Distressed

Okay so I have been doing soooooo good all week on diet and exercise(very proud of myself)but I am having a dilemma. Breakfast. I am not hugry first thing in the morning, most of the time it is nearly lunch time before I feel hungry. I eat it anyway but my problem is this, by the end of the day I still feel somewhat hungry but have fulfilled my calories for the day. Aren’t we taught to not eat if we are not hungry. If I dont eat till I am hungry then I have calories left to fill me when I am hungry later. So isnt it better for me to just wait till I am hungry?

    I don’t know the technical answer but maybe if you just have a very small breakfast. A hard boiled egg, A low fat yogurt with a big glass of water. Just something with small amount of calories will help you not be so hungry at lunch time and then you won’t eat too much at one meal. When I was successful before in my weight loss, I really believe it was because I was eating small meals 5 to 6 times a day. Just a thought. Good luck!

    What are your calories for the day? What is your limit that you have set for yourself. Only asking because some people think their calories for the day should be 1000 and that’s not enough. But even if you are doing 1200 which is healthy you just might need more. Especially if you are working out. When I workout consitantly I get even more hungrier. I say if you are still hungry in the evening then eat. I think it’s better to have a little something so you don’t go into starvation mode. Just make it healthy though. But then stop 2-3 hours before betime. And it’s ok to go a tiny bit hungry before bedtime. That way your body goes for the stored fat while you sleep. That tip came from my Bob Greene book. ;)

    i wait until I am hungry. I want to be a normal eater, so I am listening to my body. If I am going to workout though, I try to eat a little something, like 1/2 a banana beforehand.

    Yeah you had to blog on something that I have been neglecting lol. I am not one to eat breakfast..never have been…like you, I dont get hungry til later and like you, i get hungry in the evenings. If my stomach is actually growling..then I go ahead and have something…so many things out there now..that are under 200 calories (just my snacking limit).
    I used to try and force myself to eat breakfast cause I know its good for you…the only way I can really do this is to wake up pretty early…cause if i get up at 6 or so..then about 9 or so I get hungry..thats not too late for breakfast is it? lol. But, still this is where I am lacking right now…I fell off the breakfast wagon!!!
    Play around with times and breakfast foods…the most I can really eat in the morning..is a couple of pieces of toast…see what works for you…good luck girl!
